More transparency in complex IT markets
The Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ is designed to help organizations gain visibility into complex and rapidly changing IT markets. Gartner itself states:
"Use a Gartner Magic Quadrant as a first step to understanding the technology providers you might consider for a specific investment opportunity. Keep in mind that focusing on the leaders’ quadrant isn’t always the best course of action." Gartner
CSPs, as defined by Gartner®, provide employees with the ability to access and work with content in a modern, seamless way across devices and organizational boundaries. They integrate with other business applications to support easy access while providing organizations with a way to comply with data protection and digital retention policies. However, systems that still fall under ECM or document management in German-speaking countries are also moving in the direction described by Gartner®.
"A Magic Quadrant provides a graphical competitive positioning of four types of technology providers, in markets where growth is high and provider differentiation is distinct"
